Tshwane Emergency Management Services (EMS) has announced the resumption of traffic on the N1 near Botha Avenue in Centurion after a petrol tanker exploded on the highway on Monday evening, 05 June 2023. According to the EMS, the tanker driver had succumbed due to the accident after the tanker caught alight. Clean-up operations have been completed and motorists are advised to drive with caution along the routes.

The Department of Transport has confirmed the dismissal of Leonard Ramatlakane as a board member and Chairperson of the board of the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA).
