The Congolese Government will seek permission to evacuate all Congolese nationals in Ukraine. This comes after Russia launched a military invasion into Ukraine on 24 February 2022. The Congolese Government has further requested the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) and International Organization for Migration (IOM) for assistance. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Christophe Lutundula, has stated that he will receive the Poland Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) for authorization to access their territory on 01 March 2022. On 25 February 2022, Prime Minister Sama Lukonde has urged the Council of Ministers to take the necessary measures to support Congolese nationals in Ukraine.
