About 17 prisoners, including five soldiers, were released at the Angenga central prison in Gemena on Tuesday, 01 March 2022, following a presidential pardon by the Head of State, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo. This comes after Tshilombo issued an order to release prisoners who displayed good behaviour and had been detained for a period of their sentence in various prisons in the country. Following the release of the prisoners, a ceremony had been held at the administrative building of the central prison of Angenga de Gemena by several authorities.
