The Afar People’s Party (APP) has called on the International Community to address the humanitarian crisis in the Northern part of the Afar Region with urgent humanitarian assistance. The APP has also urged the withdrawal of the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) immediately from the Afar Regional State and respect the constitutional sovereignty of Afar Regional State. The party has further decided not to participate in Ethiopia’s planned national dialogue due to its lack of transparency and called on the Government to ensure the inclusiveness of the dialogue by inviting all stakeholders, including the opposition political parties. The party has further urged the Federal Government of Ethiopia to reevaluate the National Dialogue and Reconciliation Commission.
