• GERMISTON – 08 JUN 2022 (19H00) Cash in Transit (CIT) robbery reported on the M37/ Black Reef Road and M94/ Grey Street intersection in Dinwiddie, Germiston. Motorists are advised to use an alternative route and avoid the area. Police have been dispatched to the scene.
• JOHANNESBURG – 09 JUN 2022 (06H00) Unrest expected from today, 09 June 2022, by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) members. EFF Commander in Chief (CIC) Julius Malema has called on EFF members to gather in support of calls for President Cyril Ramaphosa to resign with immediate effect. Malema stated that President Ramaphosa had not respected his oath of office and rejected President Ramaphosa’s response to the burglary and theft at his Phala Phala Farm. The severity of demonstrations can vary at locations. Motorists are advised to be vigilant. Police will be deployed to monitor areas.
• ALBERTON – 09 JUN 2022 (07H10) Protest reported outside Africa Steel and Tube Company in Alrode. The demonstrators are protesting to demand salary increases and against ill-treatment. SOUTH AFRICA – KWAZULU-NATAL – 09 JUN 2022
• ESTCOURT – 08 JUN 2022 (20H45) Cash in Transit (CIT) robbery reported on the R103 between Estcourt and Frere. Suspects robbed an armoured vehicle of an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes and avoid the area. Police are on the scene.
• DURBAN – 08 JUN 2022 (21H05) Shooting reported on Lyttleton Avenue in the vicinity of Reservoir Hills, Durban. Reports indicate that an ADT Reaction officer has been shot several times by six armed suspects travelling in two vehicles. The officer is currently in a stable condition. Emergency response services and all other relevant authorities are on the scene. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
• ETATANE – 08 JUN 2022 (22H05) Looting reported on the N3 between Winterton and Colenso in the vicinity of Etatane. A truck transporting produce has overturned and lost its load on the roadway. Reports indicate that motorists and community members are looting the items. No obstruction to traffic is currently reported. However, motorists are advised to approach the area with caution.
• CHATSWORTH – 08 JUN 2022 (22H30) UPDATE Police have dispersed demonstrators from Moorton Drive in Chatsworth. Motorists are advised to remain vigilant when travelling in the area. (19H05) Protest reported on Moorton Drive near the South African Police Service (SAPS) college. Demonstrators are barricading the road with burning tyres and debris. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes and avoid the area. Police are on the scene.
• PIETERMARITZBURG – 09 JUN 2022 (06H20) Protest expected by the Economic Freedom Fighters Student Command (EFFSC) members of the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), Pietermaritzburg Campus today, 09 June 2022, at the Provincial Legislature. The EFFSC members are expected to gather at the Alan Paton Main Entrance from 10H00 and proceed with their march from 11H30. The EFFSC members are expected to march to the Provincial Legislature to hand over a memorandum to the Provincial Speaker’s Representative. The demonstrators are expected to disperse from 13H30. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes. Police will be deployed to monitor the area.
• DURBAN – 09 JUN 2022 (06H30) Protest reported at Edgewood campus. Students have barricaded the road with burning tyres and debris. The demonstrators are protesting unpaid National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) allowances. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes. Police have been dispatched.
• XIMBA – 09 JUN 2022 (08H40) Protest reported on the MR566 Road in the vicinity of KwaXimba. The demonstrators have barricaded the road with burning tyres and debris. SOUTH AFRICA – LIMPOPO – 09 JUN 2022
• POLOKWANE/ PIETERSBURG – 08 JUN 2022 (19H50) The Seshego Polokwane Taxi Association has warned its customers that should they board a taxi not belonging to the association in Polokwane, that taxi will not transport them to Seshego, but to its first destination. Customers from Seshego zone 1, 2, 3 ,4, extension 133, Lethuli Park, Emdo Park, Mahlasedi and extension 106 have been cautioned to stop boarding taxis operating at Market Street in town and advised to use the taxi ranks. The association’s Chairperson, United Nemaungani, stated that rival associations are operating illegally as no other association and buses are not permitted to operate under Leeto la Polokwane on Market Street. Nemaungani stated that they have been engaging with the Transport Department and the Polokwane Municipality to intervene by deploying law enforcement officers. However, the Municipality is short-staffed.

• LYDENBURG – 08 JUN 2022 (22H20) Protest reported on the R577 approaching the Lydenburg turnoff in the vicinity of the Enkeldoorn Primary School. SOUTH AFRICA – NORTHERN CAPE – 09 JUN 2022
• KIMBERLEY – 08 JUN 2022 (19H05) The Northern Cape Department of Education has launched an investigation into a suspected gang violence incident at the Greenpoint High School in Kimberley. This follows after three people, including two learners and a parent, had been stabbed during a dispute between two organised gangs in the school area. Police dispatched to the scene following the incident have reportedly confiscated several weapons from the suspects. Emergency services transported the injured individuals to a hospital for further medical attention. Residents have raised concerns regarding the ongoing unrest, calling for urgent intervention by the Police and the Department of Education into the matter. Community members are also demanding increased security at the school to prevent learners from entering the premises with weapons.

This follows after two security officers were shot and injured by suspected cable criminals while protecting the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) infrastructure in the Central Line.
