• MOTHERWELL – 06 JUL 2022 (20H00) Protest reported on St George Street/R335 in Ikamvelihle, Motherwell. The demonstrators are barricading the road with burning tyres. Previously, community members protested due to poor service delivery. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes. Police are on the scene.
• GQEBERHA/ PORT ELIZABETH – 07 JUL 2022 (06H00) Protest expected at UMhlobo Wenene FM today, 07 July 2022, by members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF). The demonstrators are expected to gather at Greenacres parking from 08H00 and march to UMhlobo Wenene FM. The demonstrators are demanding the reinstatement of Reverend Mzukisi Faleni. The station suspended Faleni on allegations of conflict of interest following his inclusion as a contributor to a programme at Zibonele FM. Motorists are advised to be vigilant during the march. Police will be deployed to monitor the protest.

• HARRISMITH – 07 JUL 2022 (00H35) UPDATE Authorities announced that the N3 near the R722 intersection outside Harrismith heading towards Warden has been re-opened for normal traffic flow. (20H10) Road closure reported on the N3 near the R722 intersection outside Harrismith heading towards Warden. Both lanes are affected. The road is closed due to a motor vehicle accident. Emergency services have been dispatched to the scene.

SOUTH AFRICA – GAUTENG – 07 JUL 2022
• KRUGERSDORP – 06 JUL 2022 (18H45) Cash In Transit (CIT) robbery reported in the West Rand area. Reports indicate that the suspects fired sporadically at the G4S armoured vehilce. The suspects used explosives during the attack. An unknown amount of cash has been confiscated. A security officer has been injured. Police are expected to establish search operations to apprehend the suspects.
• LETHABONG – 07 JUL 2022 (09H45) Shooting reported on the N3 Modderfontein offramp to Johannesburg. Casualties have been reported. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes. Police have been dispatched.

• DURBAN – 07 JUL 2022 (06H05) Protest expected at the Durban Central Police Station today, 07 July 2022, from 08H00. Demonstrators are expected to protest to demand the resignation of African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa. Motorists are advised to be vigilant during the protest. • MOKOPANE – 06 JUL 2022 (23H10) The Acting Manager for Technical Services, Esther Molepo, has been suspended at the Mogalakwena Local Municipality in Limpopo. Reports indicate that Molepo allegedly recommended the payment of service providers that the Municipality did not properly appoint. The Municipalities Administrator stopped the payment amount of R19 million due to allegations of fraud committed by Molepo.

• KIMBERLEY – 07 JUL 2022 (08H10) The Member of the Executive (MEC) for Health, Maruping Lekwene, together with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital, Alistair Kantani, and the acting Head of Department (HOD) for Health, Riaan Strydom, is expected to hold a media brief today, 07 July 2022 from 10H00. The media brief will be held to address the turnaround strategy to strengthen the delivery of health services at Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital. This follows complaints from patients regarding the backlog of surgeries by the Hospital.

This follows after residents have called for a halt to the housing development project until the City of Cape Town addresses their concerns. The residents have raised concerns regarding the alleged unfair Expanded Public Works Programme rates paid to workers, the 10% Targeted Enterprise Contract Participation Goal, and the lack of public participation. • CAMPERDOWN: The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (Sanral) has announced that there will be rolling road closures from Tuesday, 12 July, until Thursday, 14 July 2022, due to construction work.
