• DESPATCH – 15 JUL 2022 (08H25) Police have announced that the R75 Joe Slovo and the M19 have been reopened for traffic flow. This follows after a service delivery protest. Motorists are advised to be vigilant. The situation remains volatile. Police are monitoring the area.
• PAYNE – 15 JUL 2022 (10H25) Protest reported on the N2 towards Dutywa in the vicinity of Payne. The demonstrators have barricaded the road with burning tyres and debris. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes. Police have been dispatched.

SOUTH AFRICA – FREE STATE – 15 JUL 2022
• SASOLBURG – 15 JUL 2022 (16H45) Sasol declared Force Majeure in terms of the supply agreement with effect from today, 15 July 2022, as a result of delays in the arrival of crude oil shipments. These delays have impacted the availability of crude oil feedback stock for processing at the Natref refinery. Production units at Natref refinery have been shut down from today.

SOUTH AFRICA – GAUTENG – 15 JUL 2022
• JOHANNESBURG – 15 JUL 2022 (06H00) Protest expected at the Chief Albert Luthuli House in Johannesburg Central by members of the Umkhonto weSizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA) today, 15 July 2022. MKMVA members are expected to gather at Gandhi Square from 09H00 to march toward the African National Congress (ANC) Headquarters, Luthuli House. The march aims to raise several demands, including the immediate suspension of President Cyril Ramaphosa, reduction of petrol prices, an immediate end to loadshedding and the appointment of a Commission of Inquiry into the alleged Glencore SA corruption, in addition to the implementation of the Living Wage and 12% salary increases for all public servants. Authorities are expected to be deployed to monitor the demonstration. Motorists are advised of expected ground travel disruptions in the area during the march.
• JOHANNESBURG – 15 JUL 2022 (06H10) National shutdown expected today, 15 July 2022, by the Private Security Sector. A total of 23 recognised unions have reached a deadlock in the wage negotiations with employer federations on 08 July 2022. The unions demand a 16% average salary increase over a three-year contract with improved allowances and benefits. The unions have approached the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) following a deadlock with employer federations. Motorists are advised to exercise caution on national routes, regional routes and high-risk areas during the industrial strike. Police will be deployed to protest actions.
• SANDTON – 15 JUL 2022 (12H05) Protest reported outside the Uber offices. E-hailing drivers are protesting against the company’s unfair treatment of drivers. The demonstrators have blockaded the entrance of the building. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes. Police are on the scene.
• JOHANNESBURG – 15 JUL 2022 (13H45) UPDATE Roads that are restricted from Mary Fitzgerald Square to ANC Luthuli House include Pixley Ka Seme Street, Bree Street/ Lilian Ngoyi Street and Helen Joseph Street. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes. (13H00) Heightened Police presence reported outside the ANC headquarters, Luthuli House, as members of ANC are protesting to demand the resignation of Ramaphosa. (11H20) The demonstrators have started gathering in Gandhi Square ahead of the march. (09H10) The African Nation Revolutionary Youth Group (ANRYG) and ANC members from all provinces and regions are expected to over a memorandum of demands to the ANC leadership at Luthuli House. The march is expected to commence at 10H00. Motorists are advised to avoid Rissik Street, Fox Street and Pixley Ka Seme Street. The demonstrators are expected to disperse from 12H30. (06H05) Protest expected by members of the African National Congress (ANC) and ANC supporters today, 15 July 2022, at Chief Albert Luthuli House. The demonstrators are expected to gather at Gandhi Square from 09H00 and march to Luthuli House. The demonstrators are expected to protest to demand President Cyril Ramaphosa to step down. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes. Police will be deployed to the area.
• TSHWANE/PRETORIA – 15 JUL 2022 (12H45) President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the governments plan to establish a second State-owned power utility. Ramaphosa stated that establishing a second power utility is expected to reduce the risk of loadshedding implemented by Eskom. Ramaphosa further noted that with the establishment of a second power utility, it and Eskom will compete with each other, which will decrease the electricity price to consumers.
• TSHWANE/ PRETORIA – 15 JUL 2022 (14H20) UPDATE Employees of Denel Metal Pressings are marching to the Department of Public Enterprises. NUMSA is leading the march. Motorists are advised to be vigilant. (09H45) Protest expected by the members of the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) today, 15 July 2022, at the Department of Public Enterprises. The demonstrators are expected to gather at Church Square in Pretoria. Employees of Denel Metal Pressings are expected to protest against unpaid salaries. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes. Police will be deployed to monitor the area.
• SOWETO – 15 JUL 2022 (15H15) The Police have arrested two suspects for attempting to illegally connect to the Eskom substation at Ekhaya Centre in Dube. The suspects have been detained at Orlando East Police Station. The suspects are expected to appear in Orlando Magistrate Court in the following days.
• ALEXANDRA – 15 JUL 2022 (16H00) UPDATE Premier David Makhura and MEC Faith Mazibuko have arrived at the Edenvale Hospital to visit two of the victims who were shot in Alexandra. Seven suspects have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Alexandra on Thursday. (14H30) The Police Minister has arrived at the Alexandra police station to engage with the community. The Minister, accompanied by the Police top officials, has convened a meeting at the Alexandra Police Station. Gauteng Premier David Makhura is also in attendance. (14H00) Police Minister Bheki Cele is expected to visit Alexandra this afternoon following the fatal shootings last night. The victims have allegedly been killed by an organised gang operating in the area. Motorists are advised to remain vigilant. (12H20) Taxi blockade reported in Alexandra outside the Police Station. Residents and taxi operators have blocked the road against Gauteng’s Premier David Makhura’s motorcade. This follows two shooting incidents that occurred on Thursday evening, 14 July 2022, and today, 15 July 2022, which led to the death of eight people in Alexander. Motorists are advised to use an alternative route. Police are on the scene.
• ALEXANDRA – 15 JUL 2022 (17H15) Police Minister Bheki Cele announced that at least seven suspects had been arrested in connection with several robberies and the shooting incident in Alexandra on Thursday night, 14 July 2022. The death toll has risen to six after one of the victims died in Hospital. Four others were wounded. The Police also recovered ten cell phones, firearms, and ammunition. The suspects are facing charges of murder, attempted murder, and robbery.
• SANDTON – 15 JUL 2022 (18H00) Eskom announced that it would suspend services in areas where the safety of employees is at risk, and services will only resume when it is deemed safe. Eskom is experiencing an increase in violent attacks where employees are victimised and attacked while providing electricity-related services to communities. Employees are often assaulted, stabbed, shot at, robbed, victimised, chased away and held hostage in communities where Eskom provides services to. In the past three months, there have been incidents in Mabopane, Tshwane and other parts of Gauteng.

• ESTCOURT – 15 JUL 2022 (10H15) Protest reported on the R103/ Old Main Road near Fort Durnford. Demonstrators are burning tyres and debris along the road. Motorists are advised to avoid the area. Police have been dispatched to the scene.
• DUNDEE – 15 JUL 2022 (15H50) Motorists are advised to be vigilant on major routes in Dundee and at the Sibongile informal settlement. Community members are holding a parade, causing traffic disruptions. Member of Executive Council, Hlengiwe Mavimbela, is leading the parade. The parade is to mobilise communities to be part of the horse racing, fashion show and music festival. The Dundee July is one of the projects aimed at mobilising all sectors of society and creating economic opportunities for Umzinyathi businesses.
• DURBAN – 15 JUL 2022 (17H00) Protest reported on Umhlatuzana Road in Seaview heading towards Clairwood. Umhlatuzana Road is closed near the Umhlatuzana Bridge. The reason for the protest is unknown at this stage. Motorists are advised to be vigilant. Security officers are on the scene.
• CHATSWORTH – 15 JUL 2022 (18H15) Protest reported at the Deen’s shopping centre in Shallcross. The demonstrators are allegedly staying at the Shallcross Community Hall and are protesting due to the lack of food. Police have dispersed the demonstrators and are discussing the matter with community representatives. Motorists are advised to be vigilant.

• LOUIS TRICHARDT – 15 JUL 2022 (06H35) Protest expected by the members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) today, 15 July 2022, at the Tshilwavhusiku Healthcare centre. The demonstrators are expected to gather at Usave Supermarket, Ravele, from 09H00 and march to the healthcare centre. The demonstrators are expected to protest against poor service delivery and the Management of the healthcare centre. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes. Police will be deployed to monitor the area.
• MUSINA – 15 JUL 2022 (06H40) Protest expected by the members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) today, 15 July 2022, at Musina Hospital. The demonstrators are expected to gather near Hollywood Bets, from 09H00 and march to the Hospital. The demonstrators are expected to protest against poor service delivery and the Management of the Hospital. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes. • THOHOYANDOU – 15 JUL 2022 (14H40) UPDATE EFF members are protesting at the Thohoyandou Police Station. The EFF Limpopo Coordinator and Vhembe Conevernor Commissar Mathibe Rebecca has delivered a memorandum of demands. Motorists are advised to remain vigilant. (07H05) Protest expected by the members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) today, 15 July 2022, at Thohoyandou Police Station. The demonstrators are expected to gather at the Old Mutual Building from 09H00 and march to the Police station. • POLOKWANE/ PIETERSBURG – 15 JUL 2022 (16H20) UPDATE Members of the APC have delivered a memorandum of demands at the Eskom office. The APC has given Eskom in the province until 15 August 2022 to respond to their demands. The demonstrators have been protesting against load shedding, the non-privatisation of Eskom, and the removal of Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan and the Eskom board. Community members from Waterval Boven are protesting against frequent unscheduled electricity supply interruptions being experienced in the area. • ENTOKOZWENI – 15 JUL 2022 (14H15) Protest expected at Machadodorp Toll Plaza on the N4 between eNtokozweni and Emgwenya on Tuesday, 19 July 2022, from 11H00 by the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU). • BLOEMHOF – 15 JUL 2022 (11H40) The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati region is expected to hold the EFF 9th Year Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, 24 July 2022, from 10H00 at the Boitumelong Stadium.
• KLERKSDORP – 15 JUL 2022 (15H30) The North West Police have arrested four foreign nationals for a shooting incident involving illegal miners and security forces at Klerksdorp on Thursday, 14 July 2022. The suspects have been apprehended after a group of approximately 100 illegal miners, also known as Zama-Zamas, fired shots at security forces at mine shaft 4 in the Stilfontein area. One suspect has been shot and injured. The suspects are facing charges of three counts of attempted murder, three of unlawful possession of firearms, damage to property and also the violation of the Immigration Act. The suspects are expected to appear in court on Monday, 18 July 2022, at the Stilfontein’s Magistrate’s Court.
