National shutdown expected on Friday, 15 July 2022, by the Private Security Sector. A total of 23 recognised unions have reached a deadlock in the wage negotiations with employer federations on 08 July 2022. The unions demand a 16% average salary increase over a three-year contract with improved allowances and benefits. The unions have approached the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) following a deadlock with employer federations. Motorists are advised to exercise caution on national routes, regional routes and high-risk areas during the industrial strike. Police will be deployed to protest actions.
