• PORT ST JOHNS – 21 APR 2022 (06H20) President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to visit Port St Johns today, 21 April 2022, at 10H00 to offer support to affected communities and assess the response of Government and civil society to the situation. This follows after the recent flooding in the area that caused deaths and infrastructure damage.

• BLOEMFONTEIN – 21 APR 2022 (06H15) The African National Congress (ANC) is expected to conduct a media launch of the #Letsema campaign at the ANC Free State Provincial office today, 21 April 2022, at 15H00. The campaign is about the renewal of the organisations social contract with the people.

SOUTH AFRICA – GAUTENG – 21 APR 2022
• JOHANNESBURG – 20 APR 2022 (19H00) Clashes reported at the Trade Route Mall in Lenasia extension 8. During the incident, a security officer has been injured, and a suspect allegedly died. This follows after approximately two suspects fled from security officers, where a suspect expectedly separated from the others and entered the mall. Police are expected to launch a search operation regarding the escaped suspects.
• JOHANNESBURG – 21 APR 2022 (06H00) Protest expected at the Amic Deck today, 21 April 2022, from 16H30. The demonstrators are expected to engage in flag demonstrations in support of the Al-Aqsa mosque in Palestine. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes. Police will be deployed to monitor the area.
• RANDFONTEIN – 21 APR 2022 (06H05) Operation Dudula is expected to hold a meeting at Mohlakeng Four Square taxi rank today, 21 April 2022, from 17H00. The members are expected to discuss the launch of a branch in the area. Motorists are advised to be vigilant during the meeting. Police are expected to monitor the area.
• TSHWANE/PRETORIA – 21 APR 2022 (07H00) Protest expected by the members affiliated with the South African Federation of Trade Union (SAFTU) on Monday, 25 April 2022, at the Union Buildings from 12H00. The demonstrators are expected to protest against budget cuts, neoliberalism and attacks on collective bargaining, against Eskom tariffs, against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and demand permanent employment for Community Work Programme (CWP), Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) workers and a basic income grant of R1,500 for unemployed citizens. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes. Police will be deployed to monitor the area.
• ROODEPOORT – 21 APR 2022 (07H30) Protest reported on the R512 in Cosmo City Bussiness Park . The demonstrators are protesting against foreign national employees. The demonstrators have blocked the foreign national employees from entering the area. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes. Police are on the scene.
• JOHANNESBURG – 21 APR 2022 (08H30) The Executive Mayor of Johannesburg, Mpho Phalatsi, is expected to deliver the State of the City Address today, 21 April 2022, from 10H00. Road closures are expected in the vicinity of the City Council to conduct a parade and a motorcade. The following routes will be affected Harrison Street, Jorissen Street, Rissik Street, De Korte Street, Civic Boulevard and Hoofd Street. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes. Police will be deployed to monitor the area.
• JOHANNESBURG – 21 APR 2022 (09H00) Protest expected by members affiliated with the South African Municipal Workers Union (SAMWU) today, 21 April 2022, at the City Council of Johannesburg. SAMWU members are expected to march to the Council to demand salary increases. The demonstrators are expected to hand over their memorandum of demands. The following routes are expected to be affected by the march, Harrison Street, Jorissen Street, Rissik Street, De Korte Street, Civic Boulevard and Hoofd Street. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes. Police will be deployed to monitor the area.
• TSHWANE/PRETORIA – 21 APR 2022 (09H30) The Commander in Chief (CIC), Julius Malema, of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), is expected to address the EFF Freedom Day Rally on Wednesday, 27 April 2022, from 11H00 at the Moretele View Park in Mamelodi.

SOUTH AFRICA – KWAZULU-NATAL – 21 APR 2022
• DURBAN – 21 APR 2022 (06H10) Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema is expected to visit the province today, 21 April 2022, following the floods, which have led to the death of 448 deaths and infrastructure damage. Malema is expected to hand over food parcels and blankets to 500 families in Ward 25, Clare Estate, from 11H00.

SOUTH AFRICA – LIMPOPO – 21 APR 2022
• POLOKWANE/ PIETERSBURG – 20 APR 2022 (20H45) Protest expected by the South African Municipal Workers Union (SAMWU) on Friday, 22 April 2022, from 10H00 at Lepelle Northern Water office. Demonstrators are expected to gather at SABC Park and then proceed to the Lepelle Northern Water office. SAMWU will raise concerns regarding the safety of employees, the Board’s failure in its fiduciary duties, implementation of collective agreements, unilateral change of conditions of service and the insourcing of services at the waterboard. Motorists are advised to be vigilant during the march. Police will be monitoring the protest.

• ERMELO – 20 APR 2022 (21H00) Protest reported on the N11 in the vicinity of the graveyard in Wesselton. Demonstrators are barricading the road with burning tyres and debris. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes. Police have been dispatched to the scene.
• KAMHLUSHWA – 21 APR 2022 (09H10) UPDATE Demonstrations reported on Main Road between Driekoppies. Taxi operators demand the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Roads and Transport to address the grievances regarding road infrastructure. (06H30) Protest reported on the R570 in the vicinity of Shongwe Hospital. The demonstrators have barricaded the road with burning tyres and debris. Previous demonstrations have been related to poor service delivery. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes. Police have been dispatched.

SOUTH AFRICA – NORTH WEST – 21 APR 2022
• RUSTENBURG – 20 APR 2022 (20H55) Protest reported on the R24 at the R104 intersection in the vicinity of KFC. Demonstrators are barricading the road with burning tyres and debris. Community members are protesting due to poor service delivery regarding electricity outages in the Waterkloof area. Motorists are advised to be vigilant. Police have been dispatched to the scene.
• OTTOSDAL – 21 APR 2022 (06H15) Protest reported on the R507 between Ottosdal and Delareyville. The demonstrators are protesting due to poor service delivery. • RUSTENBURG – 21 APR 2022 (08H50) Protest reported on the R24 in the vicinity of Engen Waterkloof Fuel Station. The demonstrators are protesting due to poor service delivery. SOUTH AFRICA – NORTHERN CAPE – 21 APR 2022
• JAN KEMPDORP – 20 APR 2022 (20H45) Community members picketed outside the Jan Kempdorp Magistrate’s Court today, 20 April 2022. Demonstrators have been calling for the accused to be kept in custody until the finalisation of his trial. The accused are facing charges of sexual assault. The State successfully opposed bail due to the seriousness of the charges. The case has been postponed to 03 May 2022, when the accused will apply for bail.
• WARRENTON – 20 APR 2022 (20H50) Protest reported on the N12 in Warrenton. Demonstrators are barricading the road with debris. Motorists are advised to be vigilant. Police have been dispatched to the scene.
• POSTMASBURG – 21 APR 2022 (08H10) Protest reported on R385 between Postmasburg and Kimberley. The demonstrators have barricaded the road with burning tyres and debris. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes. Police have been dispatched.

SOUTH AFRICA – WESTERN CAPE – 21 APR 2022
• CAPE TOWN – 20 APR 2022 (22H10) Shooting reported in Cape Town by unknown suspects on Turfhall road. The suspects allegedly fired at the car and fled the scene. Reports indicate that approximately two civilians have been injured. one of the injured is allegedly a suspected Leader of the Ghettos. Police have arrived on the scene and are expected to conduct search operations for the suspects.
