GHANA – GREATER ACCRA – ACCRA – ANNOUNCEMENT 14 JAN 2022 (11:00)

President Akufo-Addo has announced that his Hungarian counterpart, János Áder, will be on a five-day State visit in Ghana. This comes as Ghana and Hungary pledged to deepen cooperation ties for mutual benefit. President Áder’s visit aims to re-affirm the relations of cooperation and bonds of friendship between the two countries. During President Áder’s visit, several agreements will be signed, specifically on continuing the education exchange programme between the Ministry of Human Capacities of Hungary and the Ministry of Education of Ghana. The two countries will also focus on strengthening the mutual visa extension for holders of diplomatic and service passports, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on sports cooperation. The two countries have reiterated their determination to help realize the global commitment of halving emissions by 2030. Furthermore, President Akufo-Addo called on Hungary to lend its support to the African Continental Free Trade Area. President Áder and his delegation reiterated their determination to support the need for humane treatment of illegal migrants and the protection of human rights in accordance with international laws both at home and on European platforms.
