The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) is expected to embark on a strike action today, 10 January 2022. This follows after the Government had failed to meet their concerns. The union has urged the Government to restore the conditions of service agreed upon in 2012. Following the strike action, a Memorandum of Agreement had been signed by the Government and UTAG. The Government and UTAG will among other things, negotiate the research component of the Book and Research Allowance, market premium, and non-basic allowance. Motorists are advised to remain vigilant. Authorities are aware of the situation.
