The United Kingdom (UK) Government has updated its travel advisory for travel to Kenya. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has advised against all but essential travel to areas within 60 kilometres (km) of the Kenya-Somalia border, as well as the Eastern Garissa County, Mandera County, Lamy County, areas of Tana River County north of the Tana River, and within 15 km of the coast from the Tana river down the Galana river. This follows as the Kenyan Government recently activated its health emergency response mechanisms following the death of three people attributed to an outbreak of yellow fever in Isiolo County. Following the outbreak, the Ministry of Health plans to conduct yellow fever vaccination in Isiolo and other high risks counties, including Wajir, Garissa, Marsabit, Meru Samburu, Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet, West Pokot, Turkana and possibly Tana river and Mandera.
