The Ministry of Energy has tasked a team to investigate the collapse of four masts on the Kiambere-Embakasi power transmission line. This follows after the transmission line collapsed on Tuesday, 11 January 2022, which caused a nationwide power outage and affected the 310.25-megawatt Lake Turkana Wind Power (LTWP) plant in Marsabit. The Ministry has stated that the power supply had been restored. Meanwhile, the Minister of Energy, Monica Juma, has ordered the population located under the transmission lines to be evacuated.
