The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) has announced that voters who fail to register with their respective political parties by 26 March 2022 will not be allowed to participate in the party primaries in April 2022. ORPP North Rift Region Coordinator Hope Nandwa has stated that strictly voters whose names appear in political party registrars will be able to elect party candidates during the primaries. Nandwa further noted that the ORPP is expected to conduct meetings in the region’s six counties with all political aspirants to disseminate information regarding the requirements as per the Elections Bill 2021. The forums are scheduled to be conducted in the Turkana, Uasin Gishu, Trans Nzoia, West Pokot, Elgeyo Marakwet, and Baringo counties from Monday, 14 March 2022.
