A Taiwanese-owned company, Hippo Knitting in Ha Hoohlo, Maseru, has dismissed 750 employees as it prepares to downsize operations by 31 January 2022. The company has issued its employees notices regarding the downsizing and held meetings with the workers and their representatives. This follows after the company faced sexual harassment claims by management. These claims have caused the company’s main client to withdraw business contracts.
