The Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHWP) has issued a notification of a scheduled emergency procedure set to take place at the Katse Dam on Wednesday, 09 March 2022. Citizens residing in the vicinity of the Katse Dam are warned of a disruptive siren that is expected to be tested at its offices located at the Katse Dam site. The sound is expected to travel a distance of approximately 10 kilometres (km). The procedure aims to verify that the siren performs in a satisfactory working condition.
