The state-owned utility company, Jirama, has announced that the Andekaleka hydroelectric power station will possibly be restored within 15-days. This follows after one of the transformers with a power of 30 MegaWatts (MW) caught fire on Sunday, 02 January 2021. Due to the shutdown of the power station, Jirama had implemented load reductions within the area.
