The World Bank has funded Madagascar an additional $41-million for COVID-19 vaccines, signed by the Minister of Public Health, Zely Arivelo Randriamanantany. The funding will be used to acquire vaccines to fight COVID-19 and strengthen the health system in Madagascar. In addition, 9-million vaccines will be purchased to vaccinate about 27% of the population. Furthermore, the funding will strengthen support for the deployment of vaccines across the country. The Ministry of Health has further stated that the country has so far established a wide range of vaccines such as Pfizer, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson.
