The Mozambique Defence Armed Forces (FADM) has announced that troops have recently intercepted and neutralised three Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) drone squads in Mozambique’s northern region. The operation has reportedly been conducted through the use of tactical systems provided by the Israeli company MCTECH RF Technologies. The drones had reportedly been sent for the purposes of gathering intelligence and aerial offences against soldiers. MCTECH has stated that the system model MC-Horizon D360BP V3 tactical systems had been supplied to the FADM at the end of 2021. The reactive systems automatically detect the drone’s presence at a range exceeding 2.5 kilometres (km) and neutralise them before the drone can become a threat.
