The former Minister of Labour, Maria Helena Taipo, is scheduled to appear before the Judicial Court of the City of Maputo (TJCM) on Monday, 14 March 2022, to stand trial over the embezzlement of funds from the National Institute of Social Security to the (INSS). Taipo has been accused of embezzlement worth MT113 million, abuse of power, economic participation in business, falsification of documents, forgery, and fraud. According to the indictment, the case involves 12 defendants who will appear before the court, who has been assigned to the Ministry of Labour.
