Mozambique Airlines (LAM) has announced that flights to and from the cities of Nampula, Nacala, Quelimane and Pemba will be cancelled today, 11 March 2022, due to the effects of Tropical Cyclone Gombe. This comes as LAM cancelled Flight TM1506 on the Maputo/Nampula/Beira/Maputo route after heavy rainfall and strong winds in Nampula and Zambézia provinces. However, the flag carrier will release updates as it obtains information on the incidence and evolution of Gombe. The National Institute of Meteorology has issued a warning alert that 77 bridges, 2 058 schools and 192 health unities in the central and northern region of the country could be affected by the cyclone.
