(09H15) The National Assembly staff, under the auspices of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, have planned to embark on industrial action at the Federal Parliament today, 10 January 2022. The staff will be protesting over the non-payment of salaries and allowances, among others. This follows after a joint meeting between the National Assembly and National Assembly Service Commission chapters of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) in Abuja. This comes as the association stated that the management breached the agreement reached on the full implementation of the new National Minimum Wage Act 2019 and the Revised Conditions of Service. Motorists are advised to remain vigilant. Police are expected to be on the scene.
