The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that it has documented an additional 111,762 voter registrations in the Adamawa State. This follows ahead of the 2023 General Elections in the country. State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Kassim Gaidam has stated that 83,395 of the registrations are online and had been completed during the ongoing continuous voter registration (CVR) exercise. Gaidam has noted that the figures have been generated from the State’s 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs). The REC has further noted that continuous voter registration is scheduled to be suspended in June 2022, preparatory to processing the data in readiness for the 2023 general elections. The following activity dictated by the new Electoral Act with the 2023 elections in view is the conduct of primaries by political parties from 04 April 2022 until 03 June 2022.
