The Nigerian Army has announced that troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised 17 Boko Haram members in Damasak, Mobbar Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State. Operations Commander Christopher Musa has stated that the troops exchanged fire with several insurgents after the armed group attempted to launch an attack on an operational base located at the Walada exit gate. Musa noted that the troops had successfully repelled the insurgents during the incident. The Commander has stated that three other insurgents have also been detained following the incident. Musa has stated that additional security operations are expected in the area to locate and apprehend the remaining insurgents.
