NIGERIA – LAGOS – LAGOS – PROTEST 28 FEB 2022 (10:45)

The Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has announced plans to shutdown the Lagos, Onne and other seaports across the country on Tuesday, 01 March 2022. This follows after the International Oil Companies’ (IOC) refused to allow indigenous companies access their platforms as required by the nation’s law. The Executive Secretary of the Council, Emmanuel Jime, has appealed to the union to suspend their strike to allow the council to intervene. The MWUN President-General, Adewale Adeyanju, has stated that he would discuss with the Central Working Committee (CWC) of MWUN on the outcome of the meeting and revert to management of the Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC).
