Protest reported by the National Association of Nigerian Students on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in the vicinity of Mowe. Demonstrators have barricaded the expressway to protest the ongoing one-month warning strike imposed upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). This follows the unsuccessful conclusion of discussions between the Academic Staff Union and the Federal Government (FG) regarding the 2009 FG-ASUU Agreement. The students are also protesting against the current fuel scarcity in the country. Motorists utilising the Lagos-Ibadan expressway are urged to use alternative routes as the road is currently closed to traffic. Authorities are monitoring the situation.
