The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), by the President, Sunday Asefon, has declared today, 28 February 2022, as a National Action Day against the commencement of a four-week warning strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). The National President of NANS, Sunday Asefon, has stated that the association will be closing all federal roads and mobilising students to barricade federal roads across the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory on 28 February 2022 if the Government fails to reach an agreement following their demands. This follows after the NANS held a meeting on 19 February 2022 at the Sokoto State University. Meanwhile, the Labour Minister of Nigeria, Chris Ngige, has noted that the ASUU and the Government will be convening a meeting today, 28 February 2022.
