The Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has lifted a ban on motorcycles in the Northern and Southern parts of the State. This follows the return of the order in most parts of the areas with the return of civil authorities. The Governor has stated that only ten Local Government areas allowed to use motorcycles will be Fika, Nangere, Fune, Potiskum, Jakusko, Bade, Nguru, Karasuwa, Yusufari and Machina. However, the Governor has imposed conditions, such as operating between 06H00 until 18H00, which prohibited motorcycles from being used for transport services and only one person per motorcycle. The Governor has further advised that all motorcycles should be registered, licensed, and documented all motorcycles and cyclists in effected Local Government Areas by the Yobe State Road Traffic Management Agency (YOROTA), respectively.
