China is expected to donate at least four million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to Rwanda. The Chinese Embassy in Kigali has stated that China has been promoting international cooperation in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and helping developing countries, including Rwanda, obtain COVID-19 vaccines. The Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, Rao Hongwei, has stated that the Government of China has been implementing China’s President Xi Jinping commitment by donating doses of Covid-19 vaccines to Rwanda to support the country in its national vaccination programme.
