Attack reported in the vicinity of the Wajid town in southwestern Somalia’s Bakool region. Reports indicate that one Ethiopian soldier has sustained fatal injuries, and two others are wounded after an improvised explosive device (IED) detonation targeting African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) peacekeeping forces. Local security sources have stated that a landmine had been planted near a roadway in Wajid frequently used by Ethiopian soldiers deployed in the area. The two injured soldiers have been transported to a nearby medical facility. Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the attack.
