The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has announced that more than 100 Somali security officers are participating in a five-day Intelligence Data Management and Reporting training programme as part of ongoing efforts to ensure the security of the ongoing electoral process. The training programme is being attended by 120 officers from the Joint Operations and Centres (JOCs) and Women’s Situation Desks in Mogadishu and the federal member states. The training has been organised by the AMISOM Police component and the Integrated Election Support Group (IESG) of the United Nations (UN) in Somalia. The training includes intelligence collection and analysis, management of intelligence data, surveillance and investigation, intelligence data preservation, intelligence report writing, and intelligence data presentation.
