Somali National Army (SNA) forces have neutralised five al-Shabaab militants during a security operation conducted within the vicinity of the Balad and Afgoye districts located northeast and southwest of Mogadishu, respectively. The SNA has stated that several of the militants’ bases in the farmlands have also been destroyed during the planned Military operation. This follows amid an intensification of security operations against the al-Shabaab militant group active in Somalia.
