Community healthcare workers have raised concerns at the Eastern Cape Department of Health regarding their contracts that are expected to expire at the end of March 2022. A group of 600 workers accused the Department of breaching an agreement. The agreement included a four years services contract of community service after completing training. The Director of Labour Relations at the Department of Health, Bongani Lose, stated that the Department does not have funds to extend the contracts.
