The Eastern Cape Transport Member of the Executive Council (MEC), Weziwe Tikana-Gxotiwe, has called for a review of two audit reports on the functioning of learner transport in the province ahead of the 2022 academic year. The two audit reports had been conducted by two audit firms, however, the reports had alleged misappropriated payments to operators. The Head of the Department, Mzi Mafani, has further been directed to engage the Provincial Treasury for an impartial review of the reports and strategise on recommendations.
