Premier Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane and Buffalo City Metro Executive Mayor Xola Pakati embarked on a post-flooding damage assessment visit in the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality (BCMM). This follows after torrential rains that left houses, informal settlements in and around the metro severely damaged. BCMM has confirmed that Zones 1, 3, 9 and 18 and Joe Slovo informal settlement were among the hardest hit areas by the rain. Mabuyane stated that a team from the Department of Human Settlements willl be deployed to assist residents who have been displaced by the floods. Mabuyane has advised motorists to avoid crossing flooded roads and bridges.
