The National Bargaining Council for the Road Freight and Logistics Industry (NBCRFLI) calls on all relevant Government Ministers and President Cyril Ramaphosa to take decisive action against the All Truck Drivers Forum and Allied South Africa (ATDFASA). This is due to the ATDFASA strike last week despite a court order to prevent the shutdown. The NBCRFLI stated that no notices had been issued to the Council. Therefore, the Council is questioning the legality of the strike and the Police’s failure to enforce the court order. The Council stated that it has negotiated, concluded, and signed the settlement agreement for the industry, which has been promulgated by the Minister of Employment and Labour for the implementation effective from 01 March 2022. The Council stated that the issue related to the employment of foreign nationals is a Government matter.
