Presidency Minister Mondli Gungubele stated that the National State of Disaster under COVID-19 is expected to be lifted soon. However, members of the public are advised to remain vigilant. Gungubele has briefed the public on the outcomes of the Cabinet meeting been held on Wednesday, 09 March 2022. Gungubele also called for a negotiated diplomatic solution regarding the Ukraine and Russia conflict. Cabinet members have expressed their concerns about the ill-treatment of all Africans trying to cross the international borders of Ukraine. The Government continues to assist South African citizens to leave Ukraine, and many have since returned.
