South African trade union Solidarity has accepted Sibanye-Stillwater’s recent offer of a 5% wage increase for members employed at Sibanye’s South African gold mines. This follows as Solidarity, and three other mining unions, have been in disagreement with the Sibanye Gold division regarding the proposed wage increase since December 2021. Solidarity has stated that the union’s members are expected to suspend the planned industrial action due to the settlement of the dispute.
