UPDATE Congress of the South African Trade Unions (COSATU) members are picketing outside the Treasury Office in Pietermaritzburg against increasing living costs in South Africa. Motorists are advised to remain vigilant when travelling in the area. (06H05) Protest expected by the members affiliated with the Congress of the South African Trade Unions (COSATU) today, 11 March 2022, at the Provincial Treasury offices from 11H00. The demonstrators are expected to protest against a high cost of living related to increased fuel prices, electricity tariffs and toll gate prices. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes. Police will be deployed to monitor the area.
