Saamboubrug Police Department has found illegal cigarettes between Maasstroom and Tolwe on the R561 road. The Police investigated a source of intelligence they received regarding illegal goods expected to be transported from Musina on the Alldays road. Police apprehended the suspects at the Maastroom crossroad, where the suspects attempted to flee towards Tolwe’s. The Police arrested a suspect and confiscated approximately R667,326 in illegal cigarettes. The second suspect has been found in a bush on the side of the road. Police investigations into the origin of these illicit cigarettes and their destination continue.
