The Mpumalanga Human Settlements Department is expected to start its R326-million housing project. Human Settlements Minister, Mmamoloko Kubayi announced, during the State of the Nation Address (SOPA), six social housing projects to be implemented in the 2022/2023 financial year. Two of the six projects will be rolled out in Mpumalanga, namely KwaNdokuhle and Willow Creek Social Housing Projects in Govan Mbeki and Msukaligwa Local Municipalities. The projects will be implemented over a 24 month period. The projects are expected to create over 2,600 job opportunities and will benefit both skilled and semi-skilled local labourers.
