The Department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlement and Traditional Affairs (COGHSTA) has announced that the decision to extend the contract of the Acting Municipal Manager at Phokwame Municipality, Busisiwe Mgaguli, was in line with a council resolution taken by the council. Mgaguli’s contract has been extended from January until Thursday, 31 March 2022. This follows after the Phokwane Forum for Service Delivery and Forum4Service Delivery stated that a council resolution was taken to appoint Mpho Mojaki as the Acting Municipal Manager on Thursday, 23 December 2021. The Spokesperson for the Ministry of Coghsta, Babalwa Mzambo, stated that the municipality requested the intervention of the Member of the Executive (MEC’s) office to second a suitable person to act in the advertised position of municipal manager until the vacancy had been filled.
