Attempts to take legal action against officials at Phokwane Municipality has been hindered by a court judgment that found a meeting to appoint acting Municipal Manager Mpho Mojaki invalid. The acting term of the Municipal Manager had ended on 28 February 2022, thereby preventing him from taking any steps against wrongdoing. This follows after the municipality paid R1.59-million to a contractor in October 2021 for mechanical repairs on two waste pumps. However, complaints have been made regarding wastewater flowing in residential sites in Pampierstad and the Kolong River. Investigations revealed that none of the work had been completed.
