Renosterberg Municipality employees are expected to continue to protest on the R48 between Petrusville and Vanderkloof. The employees are protesting due to the municipality’s failure to pay December 2021 salaries. The employees are threatening to halt basic services if the municipality does not address the matter. The Renosterberg Mayor stated that the failure to pay salaries was brought on by the municipal account being frozen by Eskom due to non-payment. The municipality owes Eskom just over R100-million.
