Tanzanian aviation authorities have announced that a team of analysts have been dispatched to investigate a recent aircraft accident off the coast of the Comoros Islands. A total of 14 passengers and crew members have been reported missing following the incident. Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) Director-General Hamza Johari has stated that the team is expected to collaborate with counterparts in Comoros to investigate the incident that occurred off the Indian Ocean island nation. The aircraft, owned by Fly Zanzibar Limited, had reportedly been en-route from Moroni to the city of Fomboni when it crashed into the ocean. The aircraft allegedly disappeared from radar approximately 2,5 kilometres (km) from its destination, with the cause of the incident currently being investigated.
