The United Nations (UN) is expected to contribute $10-million to Zimbabwe’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to expedite investments in renewable energy. This follows after the UN SDG-Fund has approved Zimbabwe’s four year $45-million programme, which was jointly developed by UN Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), UN Women, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the government of Zimbabwe. The Infrastructure Development Bank of Zimbabwe and local partners are supporting the programme with a total of $35-million. The programme is expected to start in April 2022.
